The Mississippi
Band of Choctaw Indians have 8 communities that is on 24,000 acres. The
first Green Corn Festival was held in 1949 and today is still strong as ever
with one of Mississippi's top ten attractions. There is two pole at the
end of each side. Player must hit throw the ball to score or touch it with the
ball in his cups without dropping the ball. You got to have some guts to
try to touch the poles with the ball in your cups.
This game is played by young and old, men and woman. Children start
playing at the age 11-13, then there is the young boys from 14-17, then Men is
from 18 and above. They also have the all-stars, over 30. They also have woman
teams. There are some rules to this game:
no swinging of sticks= automatic ejection from tournment
no hitting below the knee= ejection for quarter
no early hits = ejection for quarter
cant touch ball with hands = ejection for quarter
